Facilities

The program’s Core Faculty and Division of Medicine-Pediatrics provide clinical care in all of our hospitals and primary care clinic, and advise and mentor our residents.

  • Founded in 1998 as a dedicated ambulatory continuity experience
  • Staffed exclusively by Med-Peds physicians
  • Dedicated staff includes outpatient service representatives, nurses, clinical pharmacists, social workers, medical assistants, referral coordinator, medical interpreters, and cleaning staff
  • Offers comprehensive primary care, including preventive care, chronic disease management, and acute care
  • Co-locates services for behavioral health, diabetes education, HIV care, long-acting contraception, pediatric cancer survivorship, and resettled refugee intake
  • Recognized as a NCQA-Level III Patient-Centered Medical Home

Rhode Island Hospital
  • Not-for-profit hospital founded to provide care for low-income patients
  • Principal teaching hospital of The Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University
  • Recipient of multiple awards
  • Serves a catchment area from Boston to New Haven
  • Emergency department is one of the busiest units in the northeast
  • Over 700 hospital beds
  • Rotations for Med-Peds residents: MICU, CCU, general medicine wards, general medicine consults, neurology wards, ED, and multiple subspecialty electives

The Miriam Hospital
  • Private, not-for-profit hospital and a major teaching affiliate of The Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University
  • Community hospital primarily serving the Providence local area
  • Over 200 hospital beds
  • Recipient of multiple awards
  • Rotations for Med-Peds residents: MICU, general medicine wards, ED, and multiple subspecialty electives

Hasbro Children's Hospital
  • Pediatric division of Rhode Island Hospital with over 80 hospital beds, including 16-bed PICU
  • Underwent major state-of-the-art renovations in 2022
  • The Hasbro Partial Hospital Program is unique in the region as the only day-treatment program that treats children with both medical and emotional issues
  • Recipient of multiple awards
  • Rotations for Med-Peds residents: PICU, general pediatrics wards, ED, urgent care, and multiple subspecialty electives

  • Care New England facility and a major teaching affiliate of The Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University
  • Delivers ~8,500 babies per year, making it one of the largest stand-alone obstetrical services in the country
  • Complete renovation in 2009 made the NICU the country’s largest single-family-room NICU at the time with over 80 neonatal hospital rooms
  • Adjacent to Hasbro Children’s (connected via underground tunnel)
  • Rotations for Med-Peds residents: NICU, newborn nursery, and OB medicine elective
