Courtney grew up in Asheville, North Carolina, and remained in her hometown for college before attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for medical school. During her medical training, some of her most rewarding experiences came from caring for patients with substance use disorders, and she looks forward to continuing to develop this interest throughout residency.

Outside of medicine, Courtney is excited to explore New England’s hiking trails and discover new mushroom foraging spots. She also enjoys crafting, thrifting, and visiting her brother and close friends from medical school in New York City and Boston.
